About Auror

At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.

Founded in New Zealand 12 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.

Our mission is clear: reduce violent retail crime by 50% in 5 years. It's an ambitious goal - and one we believe is achievable. In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.

We're also embracing the potential of AI to supercharge our impact - whether that's enhancing the way we detect trends, support our customers, or improve internal workflows. As a company, we're committed to responsibly incorporating AI into how we work and what we build, and we encourage all Aurors to be curious about how AI can elevate their work, regardless of role or function.

The Role

As our Marketing Operations Director, you'll have end-to-end ownership of our marketing operations landscape. You're joining a RevOps function established 12 months ago, a high-impact, four-person team partnering closely with our global Marketing squad. While our foundations are set, this is a rare opportunity to define what "great" looks like within a rapidly scaling business and to truly own your domain.

Your remit spans the entire marketing data stack, campaign operations, attribution models, and performance reporting. You'll deliver the visibility needed to optimise performance, architect the infrastructure that connects marketing initiatives to tangible outcomes, and standardise how we execute, measure, and grow.

You bring both strategic vision and technical depth. You provide operational clarity, maintain a high bar for excellence, and know how to bring cross-functional partners along by aligning on execution strategy before diving into the details, so your team and business partners stay in sync.

This is a builder role, backed by the full support of our CMO and RevOps leadership. We need you to strengthen our consistency, governance, and scalable reporting as we grow.

Location: This role can be based in either Melbourne or Auckland. While the Revenue Operations team is primarily based in Melbourne, we're also open to candidates based in Auckland, where our headquarters is located.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with regional and global marketing teams to build scalable processes and configure systems that support how they execute

  • Work with Marketing to define, and own the architecture for marketing systems and attribution, with clear, consistent reporting built around it that gives the business clear understanding of marketing performance

  • Work closely with RevOps teammates to ensure data flowing into downstream systems is accurate, governed, and trustworthy

  • Own the end-to-end marketing data stack from architecture to attribution - ensuring those systems are well utilised and enabled correctly

  • Standardise how marketing executes, measures, and grows, establishing frameworks that eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate execution

  • Drive consistency and governance across marketing operations, setting and maintaining a high bar for how work gets done

  • Align cross-functional partners on execution strategy, ensuring marketing and business stakeholders are moving in sync

This role reports to Adam Burns, Director of Revenue Operations

I’ve spent the last 15 years working across Sales, Marketing and Revenue Operations teams helping build and scale them across the globe. I love solving technical problems and building smooth well architected systems where the goal is to minimise the amount time our internal customers spend inside them making sure things are right

Working at Auror allows me to tackle some of my favourite kinds of problems in a function that’s still new to the business and have a real measurable impact. My leadership style allows people to learn and experiment in a safe environment, people will always make mistakes and that’s ok - it’s about how we learn and develop from that drives us to get better. I always look for curious driven people in my teams, people that lean into new things, opportunities to learn more, and share that with others.

In my free time, I’m currently renovating a house with my partner and my 10-year-old son. Before getting into tech and sales, I was a professional chef, so I still love cooking and sharing that with others, as well as camping, riding motorbikes, and pursuing a dozen other small hobbies I pick up and drop when the mood takes me.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in marketing and/or revenue operations in B2B SaaS, with demonstrated ownership at a senior level and a focus on marketing operations.

  • You've owned a HubSpot instance, not just worked in one. You've made architectural decisions and lived with the consequences.

  • Deep fluency in awareness and funnel metrics. From share of voice and organic visibility through to MQL, SQL, SQO, influenced pipeline, and pipeline velocity. You've built reporting that a CMO and board can trust.

  • Strong command of attribution. You've built frameworks, not just applied someone else's.

  • Comfortable with SEO and AEO fundamentals. You understand how organic and AI search visibility drives top-of-funnel and can build reporting that tracks it.

  • Experienced working with HubSpot-Salesforce integration and the data challenges that come with it.

  • Comfortable operating without a playbook. We’re still a new function in a business that’s been around for 10+ years now

  • You communicate ops complexity in plain language. Your recommendations land with senior stakeholders, as well as technical peers.

  • Strong AI adopter - Auror is leaning into how AI can accelerate our work, decision making, and exploration of ideas. You’ll be comfortable using AI and understand where it works and where it doesn’t and can demonstrate use cases

We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment to our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).

With diversity and inclusion at the forefront of Auror’s guiding principles, we promote a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusiveness at Auror, regardless of, but not limited to, race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, or age.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: Depending on level of experience, between $142,500 - $175,000 NZD, or $155,000 - $185,000 AUD.

  • Annual bonus: Eligibility for a $8,250 bonus at the end of the financial year if we’ve hit our revenue goals together.

  • Employee share scheme: You’ll own part of a company making a real difference!

  • Flexibility: We are hard-working and outcome focused, but recognise there is more to life than work. We promote a healthy work/life blend.

  • Shorter work weeks (at full pay): Everyone gets Friday afternoons off, so you can start your weekend early, and do more of whatever it is that makes you happy.

  • Health insurance: We prioritise looking after your health by contributing to your individual health insurance plan through Bupa (AU) or nib (NZ).

  • Focus on mental and physical health: We understand how vital our health is and have policies to support your wellness, including Wellness Days, and up to $750 for expert sessions every year.

  • Family-friendly: We offer comprehensive paid parental leave - 12 weeks for birth parents and 6 weeks for non-birth parents following birth, adoption, or surrogacy, available to all Aurors from day one.

  • Personal growth: We support our team to participate in courses, conferences, or events that will help them develop their skills.

  • Team love: We have regular team lunches and social events where most (if not all) activities are during work hours.
